Tru-Cape Fruit Marketing announces the appointment of new Managing Director

Tru-Cape Fruit Marketing (Pty) Ltd, the largest marketer of South African apples and pears, announces that as of January 2014, Roelf Pienaar (38) will take up the position of Managing Director.

Charles J Hughes, Tru-Cape’s Managing Director since inception in 2001, who retires in December this year at the age of 60, says that Pienaar, who not only holds an MBA and is a Charted Accountant but has also worked in the industry in supply chain management for supermarkets here and abroad, is the right man for the job. “He is highly qualified with excellent business experience. I know he will take Tru-Cape forward in a positive manner based on sound business principles,” he says.

“I know Roelf as keen rugby player and an eloquent communicator. He is member of the Stellenbosch Toastmasters. He is married to Maria and lives in Somerset West. They have one child and are expecting another,” he says.
