Food Lover’s Market breaks the five-million carton barrier

Although Food Lover’s Market has been a long-time seller of Tru-Cape apples and pears, this year they broke through the five-million carton barrier and were awarded Platinum status in Tru-Cape Fruit Marketing’s Honourary Club.

Tru-Cape is the largest exporter of South African apples and pears but also sells about 60% of its grower-owners’ fruit in South Africa and on the African Continent. Tru-Cape, Managing Director, Roelf Pienaar, says their business with Food Lover’s Market is very important to Tru-Cape and is much more than only a pure sales relationship. “Each year in May we partner with Food Lover’s Market to help to feed one million hungry people during Hunger Month and this year in October we also partnered with Food Lover’s to bring a virtual Food Lover’s store to life in our Granny’s Bakery app game available on the Google Play and Apple stores. Not only has Food Lover’s broken the five-million barrier but they have done so very convincingly selling more than two million cartons than the requirement. We look forward to many more years in business and other partnerships with Food Lover’s,” Pienaar ends.
